Touchdown Starts Guyana Carnival Weekend With A Bang!

Guyana Carnival weekend officially blasted off on Tuesday evening as Touchdown: Woman & Rum Edition transformed the Kingston Beachfront into a massive celebration filled with music, dancing and nonstop vibes.

From the moment gates opened at 5PM, hundreds of carnival lovers poured into the venue dressed in stylish fits, ready to kickstart what is expected to be one of the biggest carnival weekends yet. The event, hosted by popular entertainer Gully Ras, immediately created a high energy atmosphere as patrons waved flags, linked up with friends and embraced the true spirit of carnival.

The star studded event featured live performances from dancehall and local crowd favourites Voice and Christo, both of whom kept the audience fully engaged with energetic performances that had everyone singing word-for-word and dancing throughout the night.

DJs delivered a nonstop mix of soca, dancehall, Afrobeat and Caribbean hits while drinks flowed heavily and the beachfront venue lit up with flashing lights, smoke effects and pure carnival excitement. Patrons from across Guyana as well as visiting tourists packed the venue, many calling the event one of the strongest carnival openers in recent years.

Social media was also flooded with videos and photos from the event as attendees showed off colorful outfits, party crews and unforgettable moments from the night. By midnight, the energy still showed no signs of slowing down as after-parties and late night limes continued across Georgetown.

With Touchdown successfully setting the tone, anticipation is now even higher for the remaining events!

If Tuesday night proved anything, it is that Guyana carnival season has officially arrived and Guyanese are fully outside!
