A quiet Sunday afternoon turned tense at the Beverly Hills area home of global superstar Rihanna after gunfire erupted outside the singer’s luxury residence, prompting a swift police response and the arrest of a suspected shooter.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), officers were dispatched around 1:20 p.m. on March 8 following reports of shots fired in the Beverly Crest neighborhood of Los Angeles. Investigators say a 30-year-old woman allegedly fired multiple rounds toward the property before fleeing the scene.
Police believe the suspect discharged between seven and ten shots reportedly from an AR-15 style riflewhile parked in a vehicle across the street from the residence. Several rounds struck the home’s front gate and nearby structures, with at least one bullet reportedly penetrating part of the mansion.
Authorities later located and arrested the woman and recovered a firearm believed to have been used in the incident. The case has since been turned over to the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division, and officials say the motive remains under investigation.
Sources indicate that Rihanna was inside the property at the time along with partner A$AP Rocky and their children. Despite the alarming gunfire, no injuries were reported and the singer is said to be safe.
The sprawling mansion purchased by Rihanna in 2021 for roughly $13.8 million sits in one of Los Angeles’ most exclusive celebrity enclaves.
While officials have not revealed a motive, the mystery surrounding the shooting has already sparked speculation. Unconfirmed reports circulating online suggest the alleged shooter may be someone the “Umbrella” singer is personally familiar with, though authorities have not verified those claims as the investigation continues.
